Anchoring the entertainment court on route 66 at the Ontario Mills Mega Mall in Ontario California is the Iwerks 3D Ultrascreen theatre. The 20,00 sf concrete tilt-up and steel structure houses 450 seats and a 70' high, six-story screen. The exterior is designed to depict the searchlights signifying a typical movie premier.

The interior lobby is highlighted with fiber optics accent lighting. The structural columns are designed to replicate a similar light splay as evident on the exterior facade. The lobby includes a gift shop, concession area, and a viewing window to show the inner workings of the state of the art projection systems.

The Hawaii IMAX theatre located in downtown Waikiki, welcomes visitors with a two story lobby, which features gift shops, and food concessions. This 500 seat concrete and steel structure houses a 6 1/2 story screen to accommodate the IMAX large format films and the Mega Watt Sound system.

This facility bridges the gap between an existing parking structure and a multi screen theater complex. Due to the site condition, scheduling and material coordination became critical. Even with the adverse conditions, this project finished ahead of schedule and under budget.

A sixty foot high structural steel frame, combined with conventional wood framing, then blended with 30" diameter logs complement the native "Yellowstone look". The main lobby features a fireplace and chimney of river rock 22' high.
